Phenomenon Description
The Tapo robot vacuum does not dispense water during the mopping process, despite the fully filled water tank.
Troubleshooting Steps
1. Make sure the mop mount is installed properly. When the mop mount is installed properly, the robot vacuum will give a voice prompt indicating that it has entered Mopping Mode and you can adjust the water level in the Tapo App.
2. Make sure the water tank is not added any cleaning agent. The cleaning agent may corrode and damage the water tank or even the robot vacuum.
3. Clean the metal contacts on the water tank and the robot vacuum. Clean it with a wet cloth or alcohol wipes, then dry it with a clean tissue.
*Power off the robot vacuum and move it away from the charging dock before performing this suggestion.
- For the Max models: long-press the home button 3s to turn off the robot vacuum.
- For the non-Max models: toggle the Power switch on the side of the robot vacuum to turn it off.
4. (For the Max Models: RV20 Max series and RV30 Max series.) Clear the air intake on the water tank: Check whether the air intake of the black rubber plug on the top is blocked and clear it.
How to clear the air take?
Step 1: Open the black rubber plug and use a screwdriver or similar tool to gently poke the air intake hole on the rubber plug several times to clear any blockages in the valve body to ensure that the air intake can expose a small gap for light transmission.
Step 2: Close the black rubber plug and try to run the robot vacuum to see if it can mop normally.
Step 3: If the mopping function returns to normal, trim approximately 0.5mm off the top of the air intake body with scissors to prevent the issue from recurring.
5. (For the Non-Max Models) Align the metal contacts on the robot vacuum. Gently pull out the metal contacts on the Robot Vacuum, and keep all metal contacts aligned to ensure good contact with the metal contacts of the water tank.
*Power off the robot vacuum and move it away from the charging dock before performing this suggestion.
- For the Max models: long-press the home button 3s to turn off the robot vacuum.
- For the non-Max models: toggle the Power switch on the side of the robot vacuum to turn it off.
