Implemented Tapo P110M update for Matter 1.3

With the new matter 1.3 support being released containing support for energy monitoring devices like the P110M, when will we see the firmware update support for the new matter standard? I assume that it is planned.
The current matter firmware for the P110M doesn't account for the new 1.3 standard. The P110M being advertised as both an energy monitoring device and matter compatible, there's a huge gap here at the moment because without the new matter standard update; the P110M is just a smart relay.

I've been refreshing this thread for the last few months. I'm surprised at how positive the thread is. I've been holding out to see something by the end of 2024... Without this update, the product seems to be falsely advertised. Looks like I'll have to return mine and make a report to ACCC or Fair Trading.

Since the CSA Alliance released the Matter 1.3 standard in May 2024, TP-Link has been actively developing and certifying multiple Tapo models for Matter 1.3 functionality. As this is a new standard framework, adaptation will take some time. If all goes smoothly, we anticipate releasing firmware that supports Matter 1.3 by the end of 2024.
Of course, the implementation of various features under the Matter 1.3 standard requires both Matter devices and Matter platforms to be fully adapted. Based on the information we currently have, there is no platform that supports energy monitoring functionality under the Matter 1.3 standard yet.
We have noticed that some users have mentioned that Home Assistant now supports Matter 1.3. However, as we have learned, Home Assistant has only upgraded to the Matter 1.3 SDK development framework, which allows other developers to create Matter 1.3 functionalities on the platform. They've not yet implemented the specific plug power monitoring feature included in the Matter 1.3 standard. The new device types and advanced features defined in the Matter 1.3 standard will need to be gradually adapted based on demand.
See section in red - Any news Wayne on the new date for 2025 ?
Thanks

@RussellMania Me too! I bought a handful of these specifically for power monitoring, after seeing the advertising material "Matter Certified" and "Energy Monitoring".
It's not 2024 anymore, can we get another update?

Would love to get this, bought 6 of the devices but really want to buy more and have a proper dashboard in HA set up. This is way more granular than my consumer unit monitor.

Just another quick update that I thought this thread might be interested in - The Meross plug has just had their update and looks like its working for them in HA. All they had to do in HA was to "re-interview the device so it got the new energy measurement entities", see the link:

Fingers crossed we will see something similar soon with the TAPO Matter plugs

Just a quick update as I puchased some P110MA plugs and I was curious what the differences are the P110M plugs so I also asked about Matter 1.3 energy monitoring, so this is what they said:
For your two questions, here are the answers hopefully useful to you:
1. The difference between P110M and P110MA is that the sales channels are different, the actual hardware and software are the same.
2. Currently matter 1.3 has completed the certification but still in the process, will be completed at the end of the year or the beginning of the release;
However, the realization of Matter 1.3 standard features (including power monitoring) need to be Matter equipment and Matter platform have completed the adaptation in order to be able to use normally;
So fingers crossed we will see something soon.......

@AndyL069 The official Tapo UK site says that Matter power monitoring is "coming soon" and Tapo has been certifying some products for Matter 1.3 recently (robot vacuum and a light switch) which is a good sign. Not that other vendors are being faster...

Installed this in Home Assistant and Aqara M3 Hub, was very disappointed as everyone else when I saw only On/Off capabilities via Matter. Without the power monitoring over matter it's useless for my automations, there are so many other Plugs out there, this feature was the USP. If there is no further statement coming from Tapo I'll have to send this back soon.
