Implemented Tapo P110M update for Matter 1.3

With the new matter 1.3 support being released containing support for energy monitoring devices like the P110M, when will we see the firmware update support for the new matter standard? I assume that it is planned.
The current matter firmware for the P110M doesn't account for the new 1.3 standard. The P110M being advertised as both an energy monitoring device and matter compatible, there's a huge gap here at the moment because without the new matter standard update; the P110M is just a smart relay.

Update on the Meross minis.
1 week in and still going very strong, matter integration is pretty flawless, instant power updates in home assistant.
if it wasn't for the fact that these come shipped with an outdated firmware, you'd never have to use the Meross app - you could stay completely within home assistant.
the beauty about these devices too, that's even better than the tp-link relay only matter support, is they correctly report their firmware version (tp-link matter integration seems half baked even for the initial relay only support, they don't report firmware info) - I'm hopeful this means that the Meross will be able to do OTA updates over matter protocol (meaning no need for Meross app at all).
im kind of glad tp-link didn't ship their matter support in a timely manner, because I've found much better hardware elsewhere!

@Cammm Mind Meross firmwares are not certified for Matter 1.3 right now (at least Tapo did certificate them even if the update is in beta-testing now). Meross only certified version 9.3.26 and that was for Matter 1.0, you can check that in CSA site or the Matter compliance ledger (DCL). Always found this weird.
Regarding the firmware version displayed through Matter, some vendors like TP-Link or Signify with devices supporting both cloud and Matter integrations use two different version numbers for the cloud part of the firmware and the Matter part of the firmware. That way it's clear if the Matter part has been updated and certified.

@mocelet who cares? Like, genuinely, who cares about that they're "certified" or not "certified", if they work.

@Cammm - well - if they are certified then they will work with all matter eco systems rather than some bespoke one off hack which is a work around (and may not work with everything).
btw - i have 42x tapo plugs working great now on the beta certified firmware via energy/power monitoring straight into Home Assistant and Smartthings. Nothing back from them yet on a release date.

@MarkCarline matter is a specification, not a platform.
you don't design your product to work on every platform, you design it to meet the specification. If it doesn't work on other platforms that's not your problem.
certification is completely irrelevant.

@MarkCarline Hey! I have a question about SmartThings. Does this beta firmware exposes actionable conditions for setting up automation routines like power draw detection? Thanks!

Yes, I just tried to create a routine and picked one of my updated plugs and it lets me pick the power or energy metrics. See the following screenshots...

Btw - The only issue I have had on the SmartThings side is that the plugs that have the upgraded firmware (to the beta version) don't show power or energy. If I take a plug which has the beta firmware and add it as a fresh new plug into SmartThings then the power and energy are exposed inside SmartThings for these types of routines.
I don't see this issue within home assistant. I can re-interview and immediately they appear or if I just leave them for a day then power and energy then appear (so no re-interview is needed).
Anybody know how to reinterview a matter device inside Samsung SmartThings?

I knew that was going to happen, I even warned SmartThings few months ago... The official answer was "re-install it". I can't link to the SmartThings Community because TP-Link considers it a "illegal link" but search for my messages in the post "Tapo P110M (UK) Matter 1.3 but no Energy Monitoring".
Long story short, the current Matter drivers of SmartThings determine the profile of the device when you add it to SmartThings so it's using a profile that has no energy or power components. They didn't add any code to detect a change in the features of the device to change the profile so... even if the plug was sending the data to the hub, SmartThings will still think the plug has no power or energy.
They could use a more dynamic approach since having to reinstall is not necessary, but they have to modify the stock drivers to detect changes.

ok. I'll see if I can get a ticket opened with smarthings/aeotec to see if they can fix this with their edge drivers.
I just opened a ticket with Aeotec Support Team to see what they say & push this with them. I do see a "Refresh" button inside the advanced version of the web based GUI (as per "my dot smartthings dot com / advanced") but it doesn't seem to do anything.
