Implemented Tapo P110M update for Matter 1.3

With the new matter 1.3 support being released containing support for energy monitoring devices like the P110M, when will we see the firmware update support for the new matter standard? I assume that it is planned.
The current matter firmware for the P110M doesn't account for the new 1.3 standard. The P110M being advertised as both an energy monitoring device and matter compatible, there's a huge gap here at the moment because without the new matter standard update; the P110M is just a smart relay.

@MarkCarline Aeotec just makes the hub, the drivers are made by SmartThings.
I've seen in their github they are already testing a driver enhancement to automatically change the profile when the power topology of the device changes so at least they are working on it so the reinstall is not needed.
Edit: On a second inspection of the code, they are not detecting changes, so back to square one.

@mocelet ok thanks. I've previously had issues with other smarthings connected devices and worked with aeotec support to fix the edge drivers (maybe aeotec are taking on some of the software support too).
Nice to know they are working on a fix

@MarkCarline Maybe they are not... after a deeper inspection of the code, they still do not detect changes, they only perform the profiling when the device is added to the driver. And that only happens when you set it up for first time or when you switch drivers (but there are no more drivers to handle smart plugs so you can't force that change as workaround).
So, yeah, keep on reminding them they should fix that, reinstalling devices is not a good user experience.

@MarkCarline NICE! I really want to have these conditions to set up a routine. I hope they release a stable version with those changes ASAP lol. I was on the fence about whether to buy this smart plug or the Meross one (which now supports Matter 1.4), but the latter is more expensive to import into my country, so thanks for the info.

There are always going to be issues with implementations, just like SmartThings.
Thats what matter is meant to be about, to disconnect the hardware manufacturer from the software, to create a specification which hardware and software manufacturers can implement without considering each other.
the fact that TP-Link insists on working software implementations before releasing their firmware simply indicates to me they don't "get matter", they're still heavily focussed on "their ecosystem". That should be enough to sway you from using them.
the matter firmware should be long released now, but it's not.
use hardware that has an "open first" mentality.

Wow this is still not released. I was just dipping my toe in with this one but looks like meross is the way to go.

@MarkCarline For SmartThings to re-profile the smart plugs so you don't have to reinstall them to get the power readings you can use my Matter Playground edge driver I published few days ago, search for it in the SmartThings Community. You can just switch to my driver and go back to the stock one so it re-profiles the plug. Also I'm curious if the beta improves the support in other Matter commands and attributes like the power-on state or the auto-off.

@mocelet okay I'm happy to try that. Do you have a link to your edge driver?

@MarkCarline This forum won't allow the link, I suggest going to the SmartThings Community website and search for the name or my posts there.
Of course, that will only be useful for updated plugs, I believe you mentioned you only had one with the beta. It also exposes other features, some already available in Home Assistant but not in stock SmartThings drivers.
I didn't manage to get the beta from support so can't tell if those extra features work with the P110M or not.

@mocelet I have all 45x of my plugs running the beta with no issues to report (other than the Samsung issue we're talking about).
I'll see if I can get your driver & report back....
