Would love to see energy monitoring data via matter. It's been in the matter spec for a while. tp-link really falling behind on this feature.

  @PapaMaku

 No idea. Just found it was for mine and happy as I can now delete the home assistant integrations.

My Tapo P110M also got the update today and after reinterviewing them in Home Assistant, they show "Power", "Energy" and "Exported Energy".
I recently also bought some Meross Matter Plugs which show "Power", "Energy", "Voltage" and "Current". So "Voltage" and "Current" are missing from Tapo, while Meross does not have "Exported energy". I don't need any of this entities so for me both plugs are good.

What I don't like about this plugs (both Meross and Tapo) is, that they still somehow require the manufacturers app. For Meross I had to create an account and register their plugs to get Matter 1.3 update. In the manuals they even "advertise" that their app is still needed, which in my opionion is a disadvantage, not something to be proud of...
For Tapo I am not sure if they have to be registered to receive the update, since auto update seems to be enabled by default.

So "Voltage" and "Current" are missing from Tapo.

@Springrbua Actually the problem is that Home Assistant is not displaying it. Tapo reports the voltage and current through Matter using the "RMS Current" and "RMS Voltage" attributes, which are the mandatory attributes for devices of its category. The problem is that Home Assistant only displays the attributes "Voltage" and "Active Current", which are optional but other vendors use.

I've also received the update, it seems to report power every 10 seconds regardless of the load, so no smart reporting like reporting meaningful changes fast or not reporting similar values.

Also, they do not support Matter Power-on state (StartUpOnOff attribute) to set the state after a power loss, the only way to configure it is through Tapo app. Other vendors like WiZ or Eve support setting that behaviour through Matter.

They do not support the On With Timed Off command either, which is a native auto-off timer for Matter that can be restarted. Smart home platforms usually don't expose that feature but my custom driver for SmartThings does.

Thank you for the information. So Meross probably reports the optional attributes as well, while Tapo uses the mandatory ones only. Reporting Power every 10s is probably enough for me, as I mainly use energy which is not calculated by Home Assistant but measured by the plug itself. But I agree that it is not ideal for some scenarios, especially since the Matter standard seems to support faster (and conditional) updates. The other features like "Matter Power-on" and "On With Timed Off" can probably be implemented with Home Assistant itself.

I have all 45x of my plugs

@MarkCarline I got the update already, I'm really curious about the performance of your SmartThings hub with 45 plugs reporting attributes every 10 seconds which is the rate Tapo went for instead of doing a smart reporting. For power and energy only that would be 540 reports per minute in total (45 x 2 x 6), or 1080 if you use my driver that also displays the voltage and current and updates at the same rate. That's between 9 and 18 reports per second in your case.

Edit: Fixed calculations, although that would be the worst case scenario with all plugs on and an active load in each.
