Implemented Tapo P110M update for Matter 1.3

With the new matter 1.3 support being released containing support for energy monitoring devices like the P110M, when will we see the firmware update support for the new matter standard? I assume that it is planned.
The current matter firmware for the P110M doesn't account for the new 1.3 standard. The P110M being advertised as both an energy monitoring device and matter compatible, there's a huge gap here at the moment because without the new matter standard update; the P110M is just a smart relay.

@mocelet who cares? Like, genuinely, who cares about that they're "certified" or not "certified", if they work.

@Cammm Mind Meross firmwares are not certified for Matter 1.3 right now (at least Tapo did certificate them even if the update is in beta-testing now). Meross only certified version 9.3.26 and that was for Matter 1.0, you can check that in CSA site or the Matter compliance ledger (DCL). Always found this weird.
Regarding the firmware version displayed through Matter, some vendors like TP-Link or Signify with devices supporting both cloud and Matter integrations use two different version numbers for the cloud part of the firmware and the Matter part of the firmware. That way it's clear if the Matter part has been updated and certified.

Update on the Meross minis.
1 week in and still going very strong, matter integration is pretty flawless, instant power updates in home assistant.
if it wasn't for the fact that these come shipped with an outdated firmware, you'd never have to use the Meross app - you could stay completely within home assistant.
the beauty about these devices too, that's even better than the tp-link relay only matter support, is they correctly report their firmware version (tp-link matter integration seems half baked even for the initial relay only support, they don't report firmware info) - I'm hopeful this means that the Meross will be able to do OTA updates over matter protocol (meaning no need for Meross app at all).
im kind of glad tp-link didn't ship their matter support in a timely manner, because I've found much better hardware elsewhere!

Thanks for the insight @MarkCarline ! I'm not really in a hurry to get the feature so won't ask for the beta but I have to admit I was I bit reluctant to purchase more P110M until the firmware was ready. Was also making time for the P115M announced back in 2023, the European P110M is too bulky by today's standards.

@mocelet re: reporting rate....
I just plugged my air fryer into it and switched it on for 10 seconds and noticed that the increase in power consumption was reported almost immediately, after switching the air fryer off, the reduction in power consumption seem to also get reported immediately.
I'm not sure if there is a threshold by which a change in power consumption means that the new power consumption then gets reported. I've had Z-Wave devices before which would only report power changes if there was a 5% change.
Very impressed with it so far.
+ I will keep asking support for when this will be readily available but obviously because it is beta I would be apprehensive about having it on any more devices.

That's excellent! Thanks for sharing, can you comment on the reporting rate? Also, is it smart to report significant changes like Matter specification describes? For instance, if you have a TV plugged-in and you turn the TV on (or off) will it report it quickly or will just follow its periodic report schedule?

Good news - I've been emailing support about the new firmware and managed to get them to push the beta firmware to one of my devices. Energy/power monitoring seems to work fine and is visible in both home assistant and SmartThings. Once the firmware was updated I just reinterviewed the device in HA and energy/power started to be reported.

@AndyL069 I'm no electrician, but I'm pretty sure 15A needs a different type of plug (has a thicker earth connector).
you shouldn't be able to plug 15A devices in to a 10A socket.
