Model: Tapo C425
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.2.19

Good afternoon,

I recently purchased the Tapo C425, but I'm unable to view it on my PC. Unlike the Tapo C200, which allowed me to create an account and view it on my PC, the advanced settings for the Tapo C425 do not include an option to create an account. How can I view the Tapo C425 on my PC?

Thank you.

As a battery camera, Tapo C425 does not support RTSP/ONVIF. You may consider other AC-powered models.

I am particularly upset, that when I purchased the C425 a few months ago, the camera did indeed support RSTP, but after the latest firmware update, they have removed that feature.  This is the only reason I held on to the camera.. and now I'm outside of the return period and then TPlink decides to remove the feature.. this is unacceptable

  @DiogoCosta

I bought 2 of these cams and the solar kit because the AMZ help and doc and many online sources said they supported RTSP/ONVIF, only to find out while trying to set them up with Blue Iris that RTSP/ONVIF has been removed. I agree, unacceptable. Fortunately, they'll go back to AMZ.

I mean, if I have to run a cord, I'll just purchase another vendor POE cameras and slam in some slim CAT6.

  @a_mighty_engr I agree with you, they have canceled the reason why I bought this camera. NOT SERIOUS.

  @Wayne-TP Is it possible to downgrade the firmware?

Hi Wayne, is there any chance in the future that will change? Would like to see the opportunity to change that option to on or off, preferably on a time schedule, e.g. constant recording during 1:00 am and 6 a.m. Particularly useful because of the use of the solar panel!

Thanks!

  @dudex dear, since they want to sell their cloud service they will no longer allow third parties access to camera.

I would not hold my breadth on TPlink doing anything on this front.. they made it very clear they have no intentions to supporting RTSP going forward, and wont' provide a means to downgrade FW. As I understand it, the camera is not designed to run continuously, and can overheat, which was the primary reason they will not provide this going forward. There are alternative ways to access the camera on PC using tapo protocol on the opensource github space... and it works.. but it's not for the faint of heart.
