Tapo Doorbell RTSP Support
Tapo Doorbell RTSP Support
Hi, can anyone tell me how to get the RTSP stream user/pass for a Tapo hardwired doorbell? It seems to be listening on the RTSP port, but I cannot get any user/pass combo to work. The Tapo FAQ mentions how to configure the "Camera Account", but this option is missing from my Tapo app. I only have Powerline Frequency and Diagnostics in that menu. I've with Always On mode enabled and disabled. I've verified that it shows 100% battery. I'm using an Amcrest NVR, but I've also just tried with VLC. Thanks!

Is your Tapo D235 doorbell powered by the battery or hard wiring? RTSP streaming is not supported under the battery mode.
This feature is currently being optimized and will be reopened later.
If you want to use this feature, our developer can provide a beta firmware addressing this need. To apply the beta firmware, please PM me the Mac address of your doorbell.
Before the Upgrade
(1) Please be sure you have read the Beta Test Agreement before upgrading the Pre-release firmware!
(2) How to update the firmware of the Tapo devices on the Tapo App
(3) Firmware downgrade is not supported. When a new official version is released, updating it will overwrite the beta version.

@Wayne-TP thanks for the reply! I actually got a reply from support as well, and they've pushed the beta firmware to my device. It seems to be working fine with my Amcrest NV2108 NVR. Thanks!

Also for a hardwired setup, the beta-firmware is necessary to enable RTSP?
If so, can I sed you the MAC of my D235 through DM?
