there should be the ability to choose which wifi bad a devoce connects to for all decos incluing the m4 and not just newer devices like the x20. ALso if there is a mesh made of decos that do and don't support this feature, it should still be available and work on the decos that do support this feature already

Hi, Thanks for the feedback. 

I think you could try to install the beta firmware here on the Deco M4_v2 which supports setting connection preference for mobile devices:
