I've got x2 KE100 trv and x2 T310, split into two groups and connected with designated sensor.

The temperature readout in the app on one group matches almost perfectly, nearly all of the time (+/- 0.1c).

My problem; on the other group, the temperature readouts are on occasion +/-1c, though more often slightly less. That said, they never match like the other group.

My understanding is that the trv should show the same value as the sensor, because I have configured it to use the sensor data to override the trv temperature reading. I anticipate that rounding might account for something, but not the variance I am seeing.

Any ideas? Thanks.

  @GoHouse

I have the same assumptions. TRV's internal temperature sensor value (with offset) gets replaced by the external one on the hub level, so any information the mobile app (cloud) or local services like Home Assistant are getting should be exactly the same (HA has no idea about sensor designation I think). Most likely this is a problem with displaying updated info in the app (cloud polling), I also saw deviations sometimes.

You may check with external services, for example Home Assistant via Matter (currently broken in my opinion, details in other thread), "official" TP-Link integration or Tapo one from HACS repo. These are using local polling, not through the cloud, and then the values should match perfectly.

Can you check the hardware and firmware versions of your devices? Are they the same version?

Are the KE100s connected to the same hub?

I often notice minor temperature differences between readings from multiple KE100 devices connected to the same T315 sensor. Typically, the discrepancy is around 0.1 degrees, which I understand may result from each KE100 taking readings at slightly different times. If the temperature is changing, this could cause the readings to vary, as each device may pick up the temperature at a different moment or when the T315 (or the connected hub) reports a different value.

That's not that concerning, as long as it gets updated over time, and generally when the temperature stabilises, it tends to show the exact same value across both temp sensors and KE100. Nevertheless it would be reassuring to see the same value across all connected devices.

The major issue I encountered today is that my KE100 units reverted to their internal sensors (at least I assume they did...), showing significantly different readings (one at 25°C and the other at 22°C), which clearly did not match the T315's data.  I moved the T315 outside to an open window to check for updates. Suddenly, both KE100 units switched back to the external sensor, which was reading 17°C. Additionally, the temperature history graphs for the two KE100 devices were noticeably different during the night, so they must have been stuck in this state for a while.

There were no range issues reported, and all devices are connected, updated, and have fresh batteries.

I purchased these devices to create a reliable and "smart" temperature control system, not one that exhibits random and unpredictable behavior. This inconsistency makes it difficult to trust the system and leave it to operate autonomously.
