Video feed of Doorbell D235 not showing on Amazon Echo Show 8 (3rd Gen)
I just bought a D235. After installing it via the Tapo App my Alexa automatically said "Found Tapo Device" (I have about 15 other Tapo devices installed in my home and therefore the Tapo skill was pre-enabled).
When I now tap the button on the doorbell, it calls my mobile phone and audio connects to the Echo Show immediately.
The screen of the Echo Show though says "Watiing for Tapo". After about 30 seconds it says "Couldn't connect to Tapo".
I also got my "old" Echo Show 2nd Gen out of the basement and it had the same behaviour.
Not only is the video feed not showing on the Echo Show devices but it is also not showing in the Alexa App.
I already disable the Alexa skill for Tapo and re-enabled it and also reset the camera.
How can I get it to work that the camera feed shows on my Echo Show? (This was one of the key purposes that I wanted to have the video doorbell for)

Try to restart the echo show, and make sure it is updated.
Does it work if you ask Alexa to stream the doorbell directly?

@Wayne-TP I already restarted the Echo Show a couple of times with no effect. When I ask Alexa to show the doorbell it is the same situation: The display says waiting for Tapo and then after a few seconds says it can't connect.

@Wayne-TP I don't have any other Tapo Cameras. Just Blink cameras which are streaming to the Echo Show without any issues.

Please check whether the doorbell can be viewed normally in the Tapo app, make sure to test both local and remote controls (e.g. when using cellular data). If device's remote management fails, it won't connect to the third-party platforms like Alexa.

Check if you're in the same situation with this user. >> Use different Alexa accounts on Alexa app and Echo show.

@TheMartan Could be way off base here but I just had a similar problem with my Wyze and Tapo cameras. It turnes oiut that the cameras were all registered in My Amazon account while the new Show 8 is registered in my wife's Amazon account (so she could access her Amazon purchased music). I just had to set up her Amazon Alexa account with the Tapo and Wyze apps and proper authorizations and all is OK now. |

@Wayne-TP I am not in the same situation. I am logged into the same account. The Doorbell didn't show in the App as well as ok the Echo Show. I now returned the Doorbell as it simply didn't want to work.
