Tapo D225 Video Doorbell not working with existing house chime
Tapo D225 Video Doorbell not working with existing house chime

installed Tapo D225 video doorbell yesterday and my existing house chime is not working.
Used hardwired powered but NOT using Always on Mode and not using the jumper wire.
Have transformer voltage of 19.5 at existing terminals hardwired at the back of the D225 unit.
Doorbell press does not ring existing chimes.
However, jumping a wire across the terminals at the rear of the Tapo device DOES ring the existing chime. That is of course what the simple prior doorbell accomplished when pressed.
I did pair the Tapo chime that came with the unit but that fails in comparison to the existing house chime.
Any ideas appreciated before I consider a return, thx.

Have you gone through the installation guide again? Try that and make sure everything is selected correctly. Make a screen recording the whole process and send it us if the problem still exists after that.

@Quero_Acreditar I'm having an issue with my D225. When I first installed it, I didn’t install the jump wire, and there was a noise in the chime. Now neither the old chime nor the D225 works. The D225 works fine on my phone, but the chime itself no longer functions. Could this be a power supply issue?

What transformer do you use? Device might get damaged if the voltage is too high.
