Model: TL-WPA4220 KIT
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.2.9 Build 160525 Rel.35241n

Hi everyone,
I’m facing some issues with my PowerLine WPA4220. Here are the details:

  • Hardware version: v1
  • Firmware: TL-WPA4220KIT 1.2.9 Build 160525 Rel.35241n

Issues encountered:

  1. tpPLC no longer works: I can no longer manage the device via the tpPLC app or Android utility, which worked in the past.
  2. No PowerLine connection:
    • The Power light is on.
    • WiFi is working.
    • The PowerLine light remains off.
  3. Ethernet connection:
    • When connecting the device to the PC via Ethernet cable, the Ethernet light turns on, and I can access the web interface.
    • In the interface, I noticed that the MAC address of the PowerLine (PLC) has changed to all zeros (http:\\192.168.1.1).
  4. Pairing: I cannot pair it with the TL-PA4010 v1.0.
  5. Powerline
    MAC Address:

    00-00-00-00-00-00

    Device Password:

    XVKC-UZZL-TVDX-OJDF

    Network Name: HomePlugAV

Has anyone experienced similar issues? Is there a solution to fix these problems?

Thanks in advance!

Hi, thanks for posting question here.

It is suggested to follow Case1 in the guide to troubleshoot:

What can I do if I can't have Internet connection after connected to powerline adapter?

I followed the guide step by step case1: 1. Verified that the Powerline devices are on the same electrical circuit. 2. Plugged the devices directly into wall sockets, avoiding power strips. 3. Brought both devices into the same room for configuration. 4. Reset the devices and repeated the pairing process. Despite this, the system still doesn’t work. I believe the issue lies in the Powerline’s MAC address, which shows all zeros and is not recognized in the Powerline network. I would like to know if there is a standard procedure to update the firmware of the PLC part (pib and nvm) by directly connecting the Powerline to a PC. I tried using PLC recover.exe, but the process fails. Perhaps the files need specific naming? Is there another procedure? Is there a specific firmware to load as boot? Moreover, on a Powerline with a MAC address of all zeros, the tpPLC procedure does not work because the device is not detected. Thank you for the prompt response and support.
