Dear Support,

My problem/suggestion is connected to the following thread: https://community.tp-link.com/en/smart-home/forum/topic/655324

I have more KE100 thermostates and several Tapo T1000 sensors. I would like to turn off my thermostates when the windows are open and turn on them after the windws are closed. Without any notification.

I tried to solve this problem with Smart Action but it is not fully possible just a really complicated way.

I try to describe.

I need a dedicated Smart Action for turn off and turn on (for all thermostate):

  1.  Turn off the radiator action

    When -> T110 sensor sends Open event

    Then -> KE100 thermostate Off

2. Turn on the radiator action

 When -> T110 sensor sends Close event

 Then -> Set temerature to ... !! There is no option for just On the thermostate !!

A big problem, there is no Option for KE100 device to "just turn it ON", but we have turn it Off.

So we only solve this if we create a Group for a single device, because we can turn off and on a group easily in a smart action.

So if I want to solve to turn on my thermostate when the windows is closed I need this:

  1.  Turn off the radiator action

    When -> T110 sensor sends Open event

    Then -> KE100 thermostate Off

2. Create a Group with one thermostate (If I could turn it ON in a smart action)

3. Turn on the radiator action

 When -> T110 sensor sends Close event

 Then -> Set the new Group (with one thermostate) "Turn On"

You can imagine If I had 4 rooms with 5 thermostate and 5 Tapo T110 device how many Groups and Smart Actions should be configured for reaching a silence (without notifications) sensor based thermostate on/off setup.

The "Open Window Detection" option is really cool and useful function in the KE100 settings just we need a silent mode for the "Turn Off Heating" option as well.

Best regards,

Gabor

A target temperature is always needed when KE100 is on. What makes you not want to do this setup?
