  @Wayne-TP Based on a few more ways I've tried (other than the methods I previously mentioned), it seems the robot is capable of working only with SmartThings. Even with HomeKit alone. I was able to use it only with ST/HomeKit alone (Tapo unlinked) until rebooting the robot. Although the features are limited with 3P platforms, it was still enough to run cleaning. Not sure why the cloud becomes mandatory when it has Matter compatibility and capability to work independently. Using the app should be just a recommendation, and customers should be provided with options to opt out of it instead of getting blocked. I also see there is active Matter RV improvements going on ST side, I really hope it gets escalated, and the robot gets some updates soon regarding this.

@RV30user

I agree. Matter was created to be used locally, so it shouldn't be in the cloud. That's why my RV30 Max Plus has been offline sometimes.

When will the rooms be exported? HomeKit supports it, but I don't know about SmartThings.

I currently have all the Matter platforms for testing, but I'm more focused on SmartThings, so it would be great to have the rooms on it.

Cheers

02 February of 2026. Still no matter support for R20 Max Plus. Also what is going on with HA (Home Assistant). There should be support for that too.

Yeah, I'd like to know about this too, as that was one of the main reasons I opted to buy this vacuum specially. Is there any word on Matter is coming? Last firmware update was October last year, and I'm feeling rather annoyed that nothing's happened since. I will change my review on Amazon unless we can get some clarification, because it's been months now without any ETA... I hope this won't be my last Tapo product, because the vacuum itself is great, but this has been a rather unpleasant experience when it comes to post-release software support :(
