Tapo doorbell seems to go into standby mode from evening to morning. I use the doorbell wireless (battery).

 

There is no exact time that the doorbell seems to stop detecting motion. Sometimes from late in the evening and sometimes from early evening. So light or dark make no difference.

 

I'm sure that there is movement at that time, but I do not see it in the list of recordings. Sometimes I have the idea that it stops as soon as I'm not or less online with my smart phone or other devices. While the wifi is on day and night. In the morning I sometimes see that recordings have only started from the moment I started using my smartphone.

The same with evenings when I stopped with looking at my screen. 

In general there are every night at least 5 or 6 hours recording without detection recordings. For sure there is movement of walking people and cars in this period.

 

Is this a setting or is something else going wrong?

Do you use sd card for local recording or have Tapo Care subscription for cloud videos?

 

If you use the sd card, check the set recording schedule on the doorbell. 

 

Do you receive any detection notification during the night time? If there were no push notifications, check the message center in the Tapo app as well.

  @Wayne-TP Thank you for reply. 
I use sd card for local recording. The recording schedule is set 24 hrs. I do not receive notifications during night time. When I'm going to sleep my Iphone is in flight mode. So wifi on Iphone is off, but wifi in my home is always on. 
Do you think that's the issue? I can try if it make difference when I do not use flight mode. 
But also during day hours I'm sometimes offline with my phone. Than I have recording clips.


In the message center I do not see any message of night recordings.

Please perform some tests yourself, check whether the doorbell detection works in the evening. Try to walk in front of the doorbell when the doorbell is awake (open doorbell livestream page in the Tapo app) and not awake (app closed and no activations before your test).

 

*Make sure to leave some time between tests, and it's best to step out of the camera view first.

*During testing, please try to move horizontally back and forth across the camera’s field of view. Avoid approaching the doorbell directly from a distance, as movement in a straight line may fail to activate it.
