C520ws connection problems
Hello!!!
Here we go again :)
New Tapo cam, new connection problems. I just installed a C520WS, when I try to connect it to my home WiFi it asks me for the correct version, 1.x or 2.x.
On the barcode on the back of the cam I see version 2.0, but if I choose it, it doesn't connect, if I choose version 1.x it connects. Well, it connected once and then went offline forever.
I reset it, turned it off and on again.
No matter what I do, it doesn't want to connect to my WiFi and I have a TP-Link extender right inside the room where the cam is on the outside wall. Weird thing: when I have to choose my WiFi, it doesn't appear in the list (it never happened for the other 7 cams I installed) and I have to enter it manually. The cam is now offline, what can I do? The led is flashing red/green and the dBm on that wall is around -55, the other 3 cams near the C520 are stable and happy :)
Thanks in advance :)

Refer to the suggestions here. What to do if my Tapo C520WS V2/Tapo C530WS V2 can't find the router's Wi-Fi during configuration?

Where did you get stuck when choosing the correct device version? Do you remember what was the error message?
What router do you use?
For the wifi detection issue, check if the following suggestions help.
- Does the wifi SSID contain any non-English characters? If it does, try to use English only or a combination of English letters and numbers.
- If you have a mesh router, try to turn off the mesh nodes, see if the app can detect your wifi in this case. The mesh nodes can be turned on after the camera is set up successfully.
- Enable a hotspot wifi with another phone, set the hotspot wifi to use the same SSID, password, and security type as the router. Then configure the camera to the hotspot wifi, once it is configured, turn off hotspot and check if the camera can connect to router wifi automatically. Try to restart the camera if it doesn't reconnect automatically.

@Skip2MiLuOops, I hadn't seen the post notifications. After about twenty failed attempts despite a strong wifi signal, at a certain point, without any reason, it connected and seems stable and happy. I didn't understand exactly what the reason for the problem was, I was always close to the router in all the installation phases. I don't rule out that there could be interference with the tplink extenders, but creating a One Mesh network (the reason why she chose tplink and nothing else) I would expect there to be no problems, especially when each device leaves the same house. Honestly I don't have an answer to why at a certain point everything worked :(
It just happened 🙄

@Wayne-TP Hi, I had all the described connection problems and ended up trying all of the actions described.
Ended setting up the camera via Ethernet connection, which made it possible to do a firmware update. But that did not end the problems, what ended the problems for me was a tip from a friend working in IT - rename the wifi/extender to contain only english character etc. no special characters, no spaces, no underscores etc. A simple name on the wifi. This was the magic and the camera found the network.

@ahle What elements were used in your original wifi name?
