Model: Tapo RV30 Plus
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

The vacuum was rattling strangely so I did my weekly clean up.

The main brush freely spins if I push it, this was not what I remember as it always had resistance.

I put it to vacuum and the main brush does not spin, evidenced by a piece of string not being touched since I can't really see under the vacuum when it is working.

So it seems that the main brush is disconnected from its motor.

What options do I have to fix?

I'm quite happy to take apart to fix it but I'd appreciate a manual so I don't damage anything in the process. This is after all scrap if the main brush doesn't turn.

Please make sure the main brush is properly installed. Check here for detailed instructions. How to replace the main brush of my Robot Vacuum

Remove the main brush and then let the robot vacuum start running, monitor whether there are still noises in this case. If the noises are still there, this seems like a hardware issue. We recommend reaching the retailer or local TP-Link support to proceed with the warranty.

I just checked and this was purchased Jul 2023. I believe that puts it inside warranty and this problem seems to be a hardware failure which should be covered.

Can anyone confirm whether that is correct?

I just found where the numbers are (not that I believe it has any impact on the fault.)

Hardware v1.0

Firmware 1.2.2 Build 240627 Rel. 162730
