Model: Tapo C500
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.0.7

As the subject says, when I block the camera from accessing the Internet in my router I loose the ability to PTZ.

I can still view the feed, but controls do now work.

Is there a fix/workaround for this?

My end goal is to have the cameras off the Internet, record to their SD cards, and still use the Tapo app locally to access them.

Thanks for any help/advice.

This is not the intended behavior. Here are several things you can try:

  • Ensure your Tapo app is up to date. You may delete and reinstall the app.
  • Try to force-close and reopen the app, or restart your phone.
  • Try to test it with a different phone or tablet.

Do you receive any errors during the operation?  Do you use an Android phone or an iPhone?
