Detection area deleted every time that I enable "Home" mode

I have a Tapo C410 kit and I’ve set a detection area for the 'Away' mode. I wanted to use the cameras as an anti-theft system — meaning I would keep notifications and detection areas active when 'Away' mode is enabled, and have everything disabled when in 'Home' mode. Is it normal that every time I switch between modes, the detection area is lost and I have to redraw the grid from scratch each time?

The home/away mode allows the user to create two sets of settings for the camera, detection zone is included. If you did not create the same camera features for both modes, then the current camera settings will be erased when switching the modes.

@Wayne-TP Maybe I didn’t explain the problem clearly. I set up two different configurations for Home and Away mode. For Home mode, I disabled everything because when I'm at home, I don’t need notifications or anything else. For Away mode, I set up a detection zone, motion notifications, etc. When I’m at home, I switch to Home mode, and when I leave, I switch to Away mode. The problem is that as soon as I switch to Home mode and then back to Away mode, the grid I drew disappears, and it starts sending me notifications even for objects moving in areas I'm not interested in. Is this behavior normal?

Are you switching the home/away mode with the same phone? Be aware that the camera home/away mode settings do not sync across mobile devices. If you are on a new mobile device, the home/away mode should be reconfigured.
What's the version of your Tapo app?

That’s probably the issue. We’re using it from three different mobile devices, so the camera doesn’t save the settings made from one phone and apply them for all. It makes sense, because how would it know which of the three is the master for the settings? In this case, what’s the correct way to set a single Home and Away configuration that applies to everyone?

If you need to use Tapo on multiple mobile devices, the camera home/away mode needs to be set up separately on each mobile device.
