Good day,

Last year I had a KS240 "Kasa Smart Ceiling Fan Control and Dimmer Switch" installed in my office to control a ceiling fan with light. The ceiling fan I purchased, a GlucksteinElements Denver 48" with remote and LED light kit (model # 38711-HBC), only has 3 wires; black, white, and ground. There is an additional pair of white and black wires from the body of the fan to the light kit. I am guessing that the control for the light kit happens within the body and as a result, a separate line is not available to control the light. Does anybody know if there is any way to control both the fan and the light from the KS240 or am I stuck using the remote?

Thank you for your time.

Glen

To use the switch to control both the light and the fan simultaneously, the load wires for both the light and the fan need to be connected to the switch. Check this video for a detailed installation guide. How to Install and Configure a Kasa KS240 Smart Fan and Dimmer Switch

You can try to consult the fan manufacturer to see if the wires can be separated.
