Tapo T310 not refreshing temperature or Humidity Reading when viewed remotely (not from native wifi)

Hi,
I have a Tapo T310 Sensor connected to H100 Hub (1.5.23 Build 241106 Rel. 093525). I use the sensor to automate my AC unit which is connectd to Tapo P110 Smart Plug (1.1.3 Build 240523 Rel 175054)
I had a great run with the sensor which was turning on and off the Smart Plug depending on the Temperature/ Humidity of the room. Howere suddently it stopped doing the same.
I did multple resets, power cycles and finally figured out that it is not refreshing temprature/humidity readings if not viewed while connected to the same wifi, the hub is conencted to. As the smart plug works independently of the hub, automations are not triggering on or off as the reading are stuck if viewed from anytoher newtwork.
I bought a new sensor, samething.
I have 2 door sensors and one motion sensor connected via same hub and they do act and automated my Tapo camera based on the automation triggers. If they are working fine it means there is no issue with the router blocking anything. Please help.

I have both the devices T310 and T315 connected to the Tapo Hub H200. The hub is connected to my router through the wired ethernet port. The problem is that when i connect to the app through some other wifi or mobile data the T310 does not refresh . The T315 doesn't have such a problem.

Make sure the firmware on the sensors and the hub are all updated.
Can you send me a private message with the Mac address of your T310? Our team can help to check it.

@CTX21 Yep same issue! Just bought a new T310. No temperature updates when using mobile data, or different Wi-Fi network.
Weirdly, if I toggle the temperature unit from Celsius to Fahrenheit and vice versa. It forces a refresh.

Another observation. Google Home seems to be refreshing live data. Although in between glitching out, between the correct data and what's stuck in the App.

@nilava Another thing to note- In the app if you trace the graph in history, you can see the latest data. But the top banner is not updated ever if you access it remotely., switching F and C refreshes but will never update after that automatically. I think their app is bogus and the worst part is they dont listen. i opened a ticket also which is of no use.
Now i have 3 sensors , one is T315, and i dont even look at them in app as i dont trust the data. what a waste of money. Tapo has become complacent and deaf.

I would appreciate any assistance you can provide. From what I understand, this seems to be a minor software glitch that could likely be resolved through a firmware update. Otherwise, the T310 devices are essentially bricked, as none of the smart actions are functioning.
Please let me know if you need any logs or additional details. I’m a big fan of TP-Link products and have heavily invested in the Omada line, which is why I decided to also go with Tapo products.

Yes, I’m experiencing the same issue. I believe a recent firmware update for the hub may be the root cause. Interestingly, when I connect the hub to Alexa via the Matter bridge, the temperature sensor works flawlessly. Although Humidity Reading is lost.

The same phenomenon does not always imply the same cause. This is a global community, it's not a surprise if you find feedback about similar situations when you're searching for this on purpose. However, this does not mean the situation is inherent to the product, especially regarding the cloud disconnection issue, which is a common situation that can occur with smart devices across all brands. It's somewhat similar to how our phones might occasionally experience poor signal or lag in operation.
Generally, cloud offline issues are typically related to network connectivity. We recommend testing the device by connecting it to a different router, preferably one from another ISP. For further assistance, it's best to reach out to the local technical support team for a detailed analysis of your case.
As for the two other feedback in this post, based on the information I confirmed with the support team, both cases were automatically closed due to a lack of response from the users. The specific reasons for this are still unclear.

According to our support agent, it seems they did not receive the app log you submitted. Have you sent it? We’re happy to assist you in following up on the issue, but without the necessary information, the tech team won't be able to analyze it effectively.

I appreciate your response, but I’d like to firmly clarify a few key points:
-
The issue is not network-related. I have thoroughly tested the T310 sensors under multiple network conditions:
-
Different ISPs (including a mobile hotspot and a dedicated leased line).
-
Full router resets and fresh configurations.
-
Separate SSIDs and isolated networks.
-
Disabling IPv6 and using just IPv4
-
All routers used are TP-Link ranging from consumer to enterprise-grade Omada series devices under SMB deployment.
-
-
The T310 is the only device failing. I currently have over 50 smart devices operating seamlessly in my home across Wi-Fi, Zigbee, and Matter. This includes devices from Tapo, Aqara, and competitors. None exhibit the issues I’m seeing with the T310.
-
The hub and sensor connect, but Smart Actions fail. Additionally, I noticed the T310 temperature readings pass correctly to Alexa when connected via Matter—but humidity data is lost and Smart Actions don’t trigger at all. This suggests the issue is not connectivity, but a firmware-level glitch or incompatibility in the Tapo ecosystem itself.
-
Complete factory resets of both the hub and sensors have been done. The issue persists across all configurations.
This is not a case of “common cloud disconnection” or a random coincidence. It’s a reproducible failure across multiple environments using TP-Link infrastructure.
Please escalate this to your firmware/engineering team. I am happy to provide logs, firmware versions, or conduct additional testing. But dismissing this as a general connectivity issue does not align with the facts.
Thank you
