Not connecting to Sky router

I reset my Sky router and now cannot pair it to my TP-Link adaptor. It was working previously
The adaptor lights for power and ethernet connections are green. The lights for the sky router WPS work when trying to pair and the so do the lights associatd with LAN socket.
There is only one power socket available so a power strip is used. I have tried all permuations of placing the sky router and the TP-link adaptor in the power supply and in the power strip. I also tried moving the TP-link adaptor to an adjacent room but without success.
Any suggestions?

Pairing TP-Link Powerline adapters should be really easy, unless one of them is defective or they cannot receive each others signals.
Please try again. Place the Powerline adapters that you want to pair into two sockets that are close by, so that you can easily reach both of them. Then press the "Pair" button [1] on the first Powerline adapter (one of the LEDs should start blinking) and right afterwards press the "Pair" button [2] on the second Powerline adapter (one of the LEDs should start blinking) and a few seconds later the "Powerline" LEDs (the ones that look like an illustration of a small house) of both Powerline adapters should turn solid on [3].
In case the above worked as described, you should be good to continue (i.e. bring the Powerline adapters to their intended locations, connect cables, etc).
The Powerline adapters you have might look different, but they should all have a button labeled "Pair".

Hi @Harry_Yorkshire,
Thank you for contacting our community.
Did you change settings of your Sky router? It is recommended that you can hard reset TL-WPA8630P KIT and configure the Powerline network in the same room as the router.
For the models which start with TL-PAxxxx, press and hold the Pair button for 15s until all LEDs turn off and then come back on.
For models beginning with TL-WPAxxxx, press and hold the Reset button for 10s. Release the button and all LEDs turn off. When the LEDs turn back on, the reset process is complete.
Then please refer to How to secure (pair) the Powerline Network
Best Regards~

Thanks for the prompt response.
I have tried with two adaptors (one starts with TL-PA40 the other TP-PA80. It seems that I was needlessly pressing the WSP butoon on the sky router :).
I have pressed down the pair button for; 15 secs, 30 sec, unitil the lights go out, until the lights go out and then flash on momentarily .....
What happens is that the three lights go out then flash on for a second then the powerline light goes out and does not reappear.
Changing the setttings on the Sky router is beyong me but here is some more information not contained in the original question. I was having problems with slow internet speed so I contacted Sky on Monday. Their 'remote' engineer confirmed this over the phone, got me to reset the router, tried a few things and concluded that an engineer needed a site visit. This happened yesterday. The engineer changed the socket containing the internet and phone lines. He did not physically touch the sky router but may have changed some setting via a tablet like bit of kit he had.
So, now I am wondering whether Sky has done something and I ought to re-contact them.
Thanks

Hi,
So it seems you have successfully reset the Powerline adapters. Good.
But have you also paired them afterwards? (As per Joseph-TP's post "Then please refer to How to secure (pair) the Powerline Network")

Thanks for the quick response.
Yes, after resetting the powerline adapter I follow the instruction in the link.
Switch on the powerline adaptor, wait for a couple of minutes, plug the Ethernet cable into the back of the sky router (I have tried each of the four outlets), press the adapter power button until it blinks and wait. However, the powerline light remains off.

Thanks for this.
Connecting the powerline adapter to the extender is not the current problem (it may be later).
The current problem I have is connecting the sky router the powerline adaptor.
I am hoping that once the adapter is connector, doing the next step should be easy.
I have used powerline extenders for many years and this initial step (internet router to powerline adapter) has never been a problem.
Thanks

I am sorry if I don't understand you correctly.
Connecting the router with the Powerline adapter consists of taking an Ethernet cable and plugging one of its ends into a LAN port of the router and the other end into the Ethernet port of the Powerline adapter. That's all there is.
And since you already mentioned in your first post that the "lights for power and ethernet connections are green" you must have done that correctly.
So, I am not seeing any problem up to this point.
