The solar panel used with my new C410 camera has a textured surface or dimpled. Is this intentional to collect more light (or dusts)? I almost thought there was another protection layer need to be peeled of.

Oh yes, this is designed intentionally to increase the surface area for solar panels, enhancing the photovoltaic conversion efficiency per unit area.

Can you share some pictures here? And pictures of the location where the solar panel is installed.

Is there anything nearby that may accidentally fall and hit the solar panel? For example, roof tiles, gravel, fallen branches, etc.

@Wayne-TP Nothing specific wrong with my setup. Just a general observation why the solar panel surface was designed to have dimples (but not smooth like glass), that gather dust more easily and then would not good for collect light.

Thanks.
