Add doorbell press as notification activity

It would be very helpfull to have door doorbell press as a notificication activity besides the 5 already existing detection activities (movement, person, animal, vehicle, package).
This so i can set it to record the other activities, but only get a notification on a doorbell press.

Actually, if you keep the notification on but deactivate all the current activity (detection) types, the app will only send you notifications (push notification or ring call, depending on your settings) when doorbell-press events occur.

Hi @Henrie_nl,
You can achieve this by turning off the notifications in the doorbell device settings and create an automation to notify you of the doorbell being pressed.
To create the automation go to the Smart options in the app, select + to create a new automation. Then under "When", add a trigger, select Device status change, select your doorbell and select "Doorbell is pressed", select Done.
Under the "Then", add an action, select "Send Me Notifications", enter your notification text, select Done and save.
Hope this helps and yell out if you have any questions.

@Rbuck Thank you for your answer, I tried it and it works exactly as I wanted it.

Hi @Wayne-TP ,
I believe that the event recordings are still required, (just not the notifications), so in this case I believe these detection events need to stay active...

@Rbuck indeed, I do want to have the recordings when the detection events are triggered, I just only want a notification when the bell is pressed.

Disabling activity types under Notification won't disable the detection feature, it is just the notification. And it won't affect recording.

Thanks @Wayne-TP,
I get it now, @Henrie_nl leave the "Activity Notifications" on but under "Activity Type", ensure all the activity types are unselected. This means you won't need to create the separate automation I mentioned my my original response.

@Wayne-TP Okay, I misunderstood you. It is not clear from the settings menu that this is the way the notifications work. I will test it.
So maybe they should just add the doorbell press to the activities notification settings anyway like my original request. It makes it more clear that you will receive notifications and it will make it possible to disable the notification on doorbell press while still receiving other notifications.
