Model: Tapo T310
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.5.0 Build 230105 Rel.150707

The Tapo T310 currently only allows setting the minimum temperature threshold down to -20 C.

In very cold environments (for example freezers or outdoor winter conditions), the temperature is consistently below -20 C.

I could get around this issue by using the Smart Actions functionality in Tapo App under T310 and setting only the temperature OVER value only as a trigger. This way the LESS THAN temperature is ignored.

Enhancement Request: Allow Lower Minimum Thresholds (< –20 °C) on Tapo App to Avoid Low-Temperature Alerts While Keeping High-Temperature Alerts

Active Device: Tapo T310

Firmware version: 1.5.0

Tapo App: IPhone / IOS version 3.13.503

Current Problem:

The Tapo T310 currently only allows setting the minimum temperature threshold down to –20 °C.
In very cold environments (e.g., freezers or outdoor winter conditions), the temperature is consistently below –20 °C.

Because of this:

  • The device keeps sending low-temperature alerts for normal conditions.
  • The only way to stop these alerts is to disable alerts entirely, but that also disables alerts for when the temperature rises above the maximum threshold—which I still need.

Why This Is Important:

I want to:

  1. Keep alerts ON for high-temperature events (e.g., when the temperature rises above a set maximum).

  2. Avoid unnecessary low-temperature alerts by setting the minimum threshold well below –20 °C (e.g., –30 °C).

Right now, the –20 °C limit forces constant false alarms, making the alert system unusable in these conditions.

Requested Enhancement:

Please update the Tapo App so that:

  • Users can set a minimum threshold lower than –20 °C (e.g., –25 °C, –30 °C, or ideally –40 °C).
  • This applies to both Comfortable Zone settings and Smart automation triggers.

Key Benefits:

  • Users in cold climates or freezers can filter out normal low-temperature alerts.
  • High-temperature alerts remain active, preserving an important safety feature.
  • Prevents alert fatigue while keeping the device useful for monitoring abnormal conditions.

Could TP‑Link please consider this enhancement for a future Tapo App update?
This small change would make the Tapo T310 much more practical in extreme cold environments.

Thank you!
