Model: TL-PA9020P KIT
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

My home network using 4 TL-PA9020 poweline adapters has ceased working.   After considerable investigation I have discovered that the powerline adapter attached to my router was dead.  I replaced the unit with one used elsewhere on my network, expecting the replaced adapter to appear as a device connected to the router.   However, this has not happened, and I am unable to restore the network that uses the powerlines.

Can I check that I am correct in my belief that the powerline SHOULD appear as a device connected to the router?   I cannot recall exactly how the system was originally set up, and the instruction sheet suggests that the adapter should be appearing on the router.

Hi,

Are you referring to the list of connected clients on the router?

If yes, then that depends on the particular model of router, which you don't mention.

I can tell you with certainty that my TP-Link routers do not show Ethernet Powerline adapters (the ones without built-in Wi-Fi AP) in the client list and that another router made by a company called "AVM" does show my connected Powerline adapters in the client list.

For routers of other manufacturers that I own I cannot tell on top of my head. I would need to test.

Apart from that, are the three LEDs on each of the three remaining TL-PA9020 all lit or not?

Hello@MACH1,

Welcome to our community.

May I know the LED status of your powerline adapters? Are they completely out of power now?

Please refer to the steps below to troubleshoot:
1. Change to a different wall socket to power on the device.
2. Hard reset the powerline device and repair it. For powerline extenders, please press and hold the Reset button for 10 seconds to reset them.
