Spotlight not working properly
Hi there,
Is there anyone having issues or know to fix my dilema.
I got a Tapo D130 and it works awesome. However, since i bought it, i was never able to got the spotlight turn on when the doorbell is pressed. Well it kinda works only 1 time if i switch the "Night Mode Settings" to "Smart mode" then switch it to "Doorbell Mode". After the 1sr press, the spot light will not turn on again.
So my setup is, if there is any event, the led will illuminate blue (for the people to see the doorbell cause it is dark where it is placed). This works awesome, however, if they press the doorbell, the spotlight will not turn on. Again it only works 1 time if i switch it from smart mode to doorbell mode.
Any insight on how can this work all the time and not 1 time only?
Ps. I tried automation and there is no item there to control spotlight upon pressing doorbell.
Thanks.

The relevant modifications have been included in the latest firmware 1.1.12 Build 250806 Rel.40262n.
Issue Description
Tapo D130's spotlight does not turn on normally in night mode. It only lights up during the first trigger (doorbell press) after switching night mode from Smart Mode to Doorbell Mode. In all other scenarios, the spotlight fails to activate as expected.
Solution
Fixed in firmware 1.1.12 Build 250806 Rel.40262n.

Please clarify the situation here: does the white light not turn on at all, or does its brightness not increase when someone rings the doorbell?

Hi,
Thank you for the reply, so the issue is, when there is activity, the ring light on the doorbell turns on (blue). I set it this way so they will notice the doorbell as it is dark where it is placed.
However, when someone press the doorbell, the blue light does not change from blue to white(i think its natural white or warm white).
I'll reiterate that this setup works only once if i change the settings from smart mode to doorbell mode, after the 1st doorbell press, it will not change light color (blue to bright white).
I hope this is clear.
Regards.

Any updates on this? My D130 has the same issue. No spotlight when button pressed, while in Doorbell Mode

Its fixed for me, they pushed a beta firmware update on my D130. Never have an issue since then.
@Wayne-TP says it well be fixed on future update so maybe try checking for a firmware update. If there is not then lets wait for him or ask him if there is an official update for the D130 as mine never received any update after that beta firmware.
