TP Link C410 camera only detecting events when app is opened.

I've looked at other threads with same issue and doesn't seem to be an actual solution.
Every up to date, working mode = balanced, detection zones set and activity in detection zones not recording unless app is opened.
Sensitivity at max 10 for wake up and detection for both motion and person.
Please help.

@Wayne-TP hi Wayne, thanks. I have read that link and have followed all the recommendations but still have the issue.
It detects movement but only when the app is opened. Which is not ideal.
I have rebooted and even reset and reinstalled the camera multiple times..
What else can be done? Is it a faulty camera?

@Wayne-TP Hi Wayne,
When I do a detection test, nothing is detected. Even if I wave right in front of the camera the lights are not coming on to trigger detection.
But as I said in my original post, it detects events when the app is open. Very strange

It seems like the camera's PIR sensor is defective. In this case, i recommend getting a replacement first. To proceed with the warranty, please contact the retailer or local TP-Link support.
