Model: Archer AX72
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.4.1 Build 20250724 rel.49903(4555)

I have an Archer AX72 with 2 x RE705x setup with Easy Mesh and have had problems with the the extenders showing as offline after the most recent firmware update. I managed to resolve that by doing a hardware reset on my AX72 and starting from scratch.

However, when I go into System > Firmware Update in the AX72, the two Easy Mesh nodes are not showing up for me to trigger a firmware update. I've tried rebooting the nodes and the main router and re-adding them by WPS but they are still not showing up here for firmware updates.

How can I get them to show up here so I can manage their firmware updates via the main router? Alternatively, if I need to login to each node seperately what would the password be for them considering they are part of an Easy Mesh network from my main router? I've tried the main router admin interface password but it doesn't work.

Hi,

The passwords of the range extenders should not change when they are added to an EasyMesh network. They should retain the same login passwords you set up previously.

In case there was no password set previously on an extender (because it's brand new or was factory-reset), then it will ask you to create a login password when you try to log in.

@woozle ok thanks, i seem to have misplaced the password so will need to do a hardware reset on the nodes. However, it doesn't explain why the nodes aren't showing up in the firmware update page. any insight into that?

That must be a deficiency in either the Archer AX72's or the RE705X's firmware. I guess you can only hope that it will be sorted in a future firmware update.
