Hi,

 

When Tapo doorbell is set to Doorbell Mode in Night Mode Settings (doorbell Device Settings page > Video & Display > Night Mode Settings), the spotlight will turn on automatically when someone rings the doorbell and turn off automatically when no movement is detected (enter infrared mode).

 

But if the video is streamed to a NAS or VCR (using advanced settings -> Camera account) the LED stay always ON.

 

I spoke to TP Link support about this and they explained that this is a mode of operation that is not currently planned. They also told me that the more people request this feature, the more likely it is that they will implement it.

 

So if like me you want this feature, reply to my post.

There may be some misunderstandings here. I realize that the LED you're talking about should be the LED indicator instead of the spotlight. 

 

When the LED is set to Auto On, the LED indicator will be turned on when movement is detected, or when watching the live stream -- that includes streaming through NAS. 

 

On the other hand, the doorbell mode turns on the spotlight, which will be much brighter than the LED indicator.

Indeed, I may not be very clear.

 

What I'm looking for is for the LED to automatically turn on when motion is detected, even if streaming to the NAS is active.

 

So, differentiate between live streaming from the Tapo app (LED always on) and streaming to the NAS (LED in auto mode).
