Model: Tapo H500
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.3.1

Why only can choose either 1 to record only. If my hub been stolen then maybe few of my camera he not detected will be still got recorded his action.

Or if really can't recording for both camera and h500 (which I think can do so) if either 1 been disconnected other will start recording. If example hub been stolen then my camera start recording in it SD card

Why I buy hub is because if camera been stolen I still got recording in my hub. Vice versa that if my hub been stolen then my camera still got recording or at least start to recording in it SD card.

  @Lim2025

Just to clarify, if the camera loses its connection to the hub, it will automatically save recordings to the inserted SD card. Once the connection is restored, storage will switch back to the hub automatically.

Having copies of the video on both mediums would be helpful for 'just in case' purposes.

One more thing... the option to store video on SD card should in general always be there is you ask me. If you use the H500 hub and someone breaks into your house with a wifi jammer, then you have no video of the break in. The H500 turns your cameras into useless plastic things on the wall (wifi connected anyway) - when you need them the most !.

I was researching buying a h500 & ended up finding this post. I didn’t actually realize this wasn’t standard! I completely agree the amount of money I’ve spent on good quality/storage size SD cards too… for them to apparently be come useless if I added a hub? Yeah if something happens to my power or network/hub I would not even get my battery cameras still recording for backup?

It would be a strong feature for flexibility and recording/data redundancy. I think also be a competitive feature for Tapo over others.

This would be extremely helpful. I actually bought the hub thinking this is the default behavior. It would be extremely helpful to have the media recorded in both the sd card and the hub and be viewable on the phone. This would also set the tapo eco system apart from any other solution available.
