Please add the simultaneous recording to the hub and the SD card. The Switching feature when the Hub network is down is not really reliable and doesn't work half of the time after the hub is down, so it will be nice to have the camera automatically recording to both at the same time without any lost footage.

I also bought the H500 thinking it would be an obvious enough feature to allow recording to an SD card and the hub at the same time and wanted to replace my nvr with it. When I emailed tapo support all I got was an ai generated response. I found this thread looking to see if they have updated it or not. I couldn't care less for any of the ai features, I only use motion detection anyway. Also, it's an absolutely ridiculous oversight that connecting a security camera to a wifi device of any kind would be able to interfere at all with it's internal recording system

@Wayne-TP If it is too much of a hassle to make simultaneous recording possible (and I understand that it might very well be, given that this would require updating firmware for nearly every camera...assuming they had the CPU power to support such a thing,) would it be possible to have the H500 itself back up to a NAS? Or even use a NAS as its storage instead of an internal 2.5" drive?

I, for example, have a pair of 16TB NASes that tsync to one another. Anything written to one NAS is immediately written to the second NAS. Literally the only reason I haven't bought an H500 to augment my cameras thus far is that the 2.5" drive inside that H500 would be a single point of failure. (At least by using the MicroSD cards in individual cameras the loss of any one storage device only affects that camera, not the whole network of them.)

While I would love to have dual recording, I would be equally okay with the H500 doing 100% of its recording to a NAS, because then I could handle my storage redundancy through my NAS. Alternately, if neither of those were possible, then *at least* giving the H500 the ability to backup to the NAS feels necessary for it to be a real alternative. One could set options such as "back up every night" or "back up every video as soon as it is done recording", etc.

Thank you for your time in considering this.
