T310 Temperature and Humidity suddenly not operating correctly with google home automations
I have a routine that turns on my dehumidifier via Google Home when humidity rises above or falls below a certain threshold. This worked fine until this week, when it suddenly stopped functioning.
To restore the same functionality, I’ve had to set humidity ranges instead:
- Between 65–100% → turn on the dehumidifier
- Between 0–60% → turn it off
Also, I’ve noticed that in the new version of the Google Home automation editor, the sensor only offers temperature as a starter—not humidity. In contrast, the previous version had humidity but not temperature.
So my questions are:
- What changed in the last week to affect this behavior?
- When Google removes the legacy automation creator, will I lose the ability to use humidity as a starter for routines?

Do you create automation through the Google Home app? Or using the automation editor via Google Home for web?
Can you share more information here? I checked on my devices, no similar issues when using the automation editor.

@Wayne-TP hi, I've used both. The new version of Google home is beta, and includes a condition statement, using this I just get temperature not humudity.

What error did you receive when using the automation editor? Please note that many features are not exposed to the app but they're available through the script editor.

@Wayne-TP I didn't receive any error. I detailed the issue in my first post. I have a routine to turn on a dehumidifier (not a tapo one) when humidity rises above a threshold, and turn off the dehumidifier when it falls below a threshold. This has worked for 18 months, but last week it stopped. I have no fixed this, but changed the trigger from 'rises above' and 'falls below' to 'is between' and set thresholds that duplicate my previous rules. When I attempted to re-setup this automation using the new Google automation editor in the Google home app, humidity is no longer a trigger, in the new version only temperature is a trigger. Temperature was never previously a trigger for this device.
