Model: Archer MR600
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: Firmware Version:‪1.2.0 0.9.1 v0001.0 Build 220818 Rel.55981n_Beta

Hi,
I have a MR600 as a backup router which I bought in 2024 and setup with my TP Link ID. Its been in the cupboard for about 18 months. When I power it up, login as the router admin and goto the TP Link CLoud Menu item on the web interface it shows a TP Link  ID login, with a register button. When I login with my TP Link ID bound to my account, it says the device is bound to another TP Link ID. I have tried all the IDs I have stored for all devices (cameras, routers etc). I also tried resetting to factory defaults. I am almost certain I bound it to my account in 2024 since I wanted to make sure that I could manage the router remotely through the tether app for my elderly mother in law should her MR6400 router stop working..... which has now happened.

Is there any way to reset the device so I can manage it or to find out which TP Link ID the device is attached to ?
Or is it a case of throwing it in bin when this happens rather than risk someone else, unknown, being able to manage the device ?

Hi, welcome to the community.

Could you please send an email to support.forum@tp-link.com with the following details:

Subject: [Forum Escalation][ID 845302] Unbind MR600 from previous TP-Link ID

  • A picture of the bottom label with MAC address on the Archer MR600
  • A copy of the purchase receipt.

After confirming the above details, the engineer might help us unbind the router from the previous email ID.

Wait for your reply.

Best regards.

Hi, thank you very much for the email.

It should be unbind from the previous email ID now. You could try to bind it again with your TP-link ID.

Best regards.

  @David-TP

Still not unbound. Waited 36h, IIUC should have been unbound 12-24h after it was actioned.

Same error message as before. ( shared with you on the support ticket this morning)
I also tried downgrading the firmware, no change.
Upgrading back to the original veresion, no change.
Physical factory reset using the reset button, no change.

If its a problem with the firmware or hardware on this router that means it cant be unbound to whoever it was bound to.
I almost certain thats my account, since I was I am sure I made it work with Teather about 4 months ago when looking at a MR6400 v4 that would not work remotely with Teather, inspite of it being on the supported list.

Or could it be that I have other routers on AgiNet bound on my account that is messing this up at your end ?
