Passwort protection for action triggers

Passwort protection for action triggers
Passwort protection for action triggers
Monday

Hello,

it would be nice if I could set individual passwords (or fingerprint, Face-ID etc.) to certain actions that have to be explicitly entered before the action is triggered.

If somebody stole my phone they could turn on/off lights or switches. That would be spooky but not dramatic.

But here is why I would like a "enter password" feature:

I just installed some S112 relays to control the motors of aluminium roller shutters.

Now the spooky turns into scary, because somebody could A) trap me in my own house and B) open the roller shutters while I'm away.

It would also be possible to connect the S112 to a door lock motor system (in my case it would be a "Fuhr Multipoint Autotronic 834")

But without an extra security feature i would not connect those.

Maybe you could add something like an optional, individual password for actions that are triggered via App.

  @DGMK

This is what exactly i want to see on tplink app also.

I don't know why a so big company and secure like tplink didn't add this feature yet, on their apps.

Password and fingerprint it is a must!

Someone who stole the phone of someone, he could very easy to have access on cameras.

Thank you DGMK for your post.

Isn't this easier if you lock your phone or the app? It is a basic feature of your phone system.

I thought this was a forum for feature requests and ideas for improvements to your products? And not to lecture people on how to work-around an addressed and explained problem.

Anyway. My phone is locked. As I guess, 99.99% of all phones out there.

But have you ever googled "How to bypass Apple's Face-ID or passcode"
I don't say those are totally unsafe. But surely they are not unbreakable (not to mention the Android "security"). And people who a willing to break into a smart-house, having the owners smart-phone, that control the smart-relays for windows and doors, will certainly give it a shot and try.

That's why i asked for the idea "individual password for each action". Because and individual set password "TL+)x81_A5*q" is a little bit safer that a general phone PIN.
You did not even begin to address the question.

Maybe you could juuuust raise this in your next ideas meeting.
