how do I enable port forwarding through the deco app?

Hi, Archer MR500 doesn't support the Deco App. I guess you might refer to the Tether App.
The advanced features for the router are usually under Tether App> Click MR500 and log in to this device>Tools.
If "Port Forwarding" or "NAT forwarding" is not listed, I'm afraid you might need to configure it via web admin UI.
