Smart plugs slow to respond with Alexa
I have several P100 smart plugs which all work fine from the Tapo app, however they can all be very slow to turn on and off through Alexa, either on the Alexa app or through voice commands.
I have a Deco BE25 mesh network if this could be causing any issues, but the performance was the same on a previous mesh setup as well.
Have tried multiple resets and unbinding of the plugs from tapo and from Alexa.
Thanks

Please test whether other devices connected to your network exhibit similar response delays with Alexa.
How long is the delay? Does this occur with remote control (e.g. when the phone uses cellular data) via Tapo app?

There is no delay when contoling other brand smart lights.
There is still a delay when using cellular data
Thanks

@Gareth9494
I believe I'm hitting a similar issue and its something to do with the firmware inside the device itself. I've been debugging the device and each device locally hosts their own endpoints. Which occasionally seem to just not respond
As shown by connecting to `http://{DeviceIP}/app` it should respond with 200 OK. (You may need to allow third party compatibility for this to work)
However it seems that whenever the device is pulling at least 10Watts of power the endpoints just stop responding occasionally from anywhere between couple seconds to 10 minutes (Longest response valid response time). Edit: I'd like to also say, it does it with no devices drawing power too, just not as often in my testing
But I believe this may be related to other third party services too.
Conclusion:
I've not got any relation to tp-link themselves but I believe this to be an issue with the firmware on the device and not an issue with your mesh network at all. I hope this provides some helpful insight on the situation, Best thing we can do is wait and hope this gets fixed in new firmwares
