Sunday
Model: Archer BE550
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.2.1 Build 20250813 rel.27119(4555)

I have a BE550 connected to a network switch via cat6 ethernet. When connected, the ethernet connection is negotiated at the full 2.5gbps as expected. Also confirmed via speed tests on devices connected via the switch.

However, at some point I keep finding that the link has dropped down to 100mbps. If i reboot the router, or simply unplug and replug the ethernet cable, 2.5gbps is restored.

I have tried 2 separate switches (1gbps and now a 2.5gbps) and the same behaviour happens.

Connected to the ethernet switch I have an Xbox Series X, Nvidia Shield, Sky Q receiver, and a TPLink Archer AXE75(Easymesh satellite with ethernet backhaul)

It'll be quite a big job to replace the cable so would like to see if there are any other ideas before replacing.

Thanks

Hello @SuperMaioBro ,

Welcome to our community.

May I know if your network topology diagram is as follows:

ISP modem—Archer BE550—switch—AXE75)))((( client devices

                                                    └─── Xbox Series X、Nvidia Shield、Sky Q receiver,etc

(Note: — stands for wired connection,)))((( stands for wireless connection )

Is it the wired speed that will suddenly drop to 100Mbps? When the speed drops to 100Mbps, have you checked the Ethernet Status under Network Map?

For direct comparison, please connect the Archer AXE75 to the main router, bypassing the switch.

Hi @Joseph-TP

Yes that is the correct topology for that ethernet connection (I do have other wired EasyMesh satellites but they are unaffected)

The Ethernet status on the network map is where i confirm that the link has dropped to 100mb.

As of now, 2.5gbps link speed is still holding.

Hello @SuperMaioBro,

You mean the BE550's speed was reduced to 100 Mbps because it was connected to a specific LAN port on the Switch? Have you tried temporarily bypassing the Switch to test this port for comparison?

If all LAN ports were reduced to 100 Mbps, all wired devices connected to the BE550 (including the Switch and satellite AXE75) would experience a speed reduction.
