Hey! Its February 2026 and still NO Matter Support for TAPO R20 MAX PLUS and no HOME ASSISTANT support. That is sad! We expected more from TP-Link into this matter.

Matter compatibility for the product is currently under development and an official release is expected, though I don’t have a precise timeline to share yet. You can keep an eye out for firmware update notifications to stay informed on progress.

That said, I should mention that we don’t provide direct support for third-party open-source platforms like Home Assistant, this applies both to this product and other smart devices in Tapo product lines.
