Question About TP-Link Deco XE75 SSID Replication with My Archer AXE75 Router
Hello everyone,
I have a newbie question. I'm considering acquiring the TP-Link Deco XE75 AXE5400 to use as a satellite for my TP-Link AXE5400 Tri-Band WiFi 6E Router (Archer AXE75).
My question is whether the Deco will replicate all the SSIDs currently set up on my router. I have "SSID1," which serves as the main network on 5GHz, "SSID2" on 2.4GHz for IoT devices, "SSID3" for guest access (with isolated nodes), and "SSID4" on 6GHz.
I need to understand if the Deco will extend all of these networks, or if it will only replicate one SSID. I'm looking to improve the signal in a distant room where coverage is lacking, and I want to ensure all networks reach that area.
Thank you for your assistance!
John.

Hi, thanks for the update.
Changing to Deco Mesh without losing the major features on Archer AXE75, there would be two options:
- Keep using Archer AXE75(but disable its WiFi network) and set Deco BE25 as "Access Point"
The previous PPPoE configuration and Port forwarding, as well as DDNS settings, would still be saved, as AXE75 is still the DHCP/NAT server.
Deco BE25 in AP mode also supports the Guest and IOT network on each unit.
- Replace AXE75 completly with BE25
Then you might need to reconfigure the PPPOE/Port forwarding/DDNS on the Deco BE25 via the Deco App.
The major difference would be the web UI vs. the Deco App. The basic setup and management have to be done via the Deco App.
If you refer to web UI management, the first option would be better.

If you have any other recommendations to achieve this, whether with another Deco, a range extender, another AXE75, or any other option, please let me know how to proceed.
Additionally, running an Ethernet cable from the AXE75 to the room where the Deco/extender/secondary router would go is not feasible.
Thank you very much!

Hi, welcome to the community.
Deco XE75 can't wirelessly connect to Archer AXE75.
An EasyMesh range extender would be a better choice, such as RE815XE

Best regards.

Thank you David for your reply and the recommendation for the RE815XE. I wanted to ask if the RE815XE would extend all my SSIDs—specifically, the main one, guest, and IoT networks. If it doesn't, could you recommend another model that would support all of them? Thanks for your help! John
Sorry for the delay. RE815XE could only extend the Main SSID via EasyMesh. Even when 2*Archer AXE75s are used together as the EasyMesh Controller and Agent, the Guest, and the IOT can't be extended via EasyMesh.
Are you considering moving to Deco Mesh completely, like a 2 or 3-pack Deco XE75
? Each satellite Deco could extend the Main+Guest+IOT SSIDs from the main Deco unit.
Best regards.

@David-TP thank you for the clarification and suggestion.
I am open to the idea of migrating to a pair of Deco XE75 units, as long as I do not lose any functionalities that I currently have with the AXE75.
Could you please confirm if the Deco XE75 offers the same options as my current router? Is it a full-fledged router like the AXE75? Additionally, where can I compare the functionalities and specifications?
Currently, my router is connected to the ISP modem and handles the PPPoE authentication with my service provider's credentials. Besides the main network, I have an isolated guest network, another network for IoT devices, and ports forwarded for external access. I also use custom DNS and TP-Link Dynamic DNS among other features.
It’s essential that I retain all these functionalities.
I can also purchase a three-pack of Deco BE25 locally if it’s a better option. I might consider that instead of the XE75, especially since I’m not currently utilizing the 6GHz band.
I look forward to your response.
Best regards.
