Summary

When the H110 hub is offline or disconnected, the Tapo app does not allow disabling, editing, or deleting automations.

The automation UI becomes locked until the hub reconnects to the cloud.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Create any automation involving the H110 (e.g., IR schedule).
2. Disconnect the hub from power or disconnect the internet.
3. Open the Tapo app → Automation tab.
4. Attempt to disable, edit, or delete the automation.

Observed Behaviour

• Automations cannot be disabled.
• Automations cannot be edited.
• Automations cannot be deleted.
• The app displays no clear explanation for the restriction.
• The UI remains locked until the hub reconnects to the cloud.

Expected Behaviour

• Users should be able to disable or modify automations regardless of hub connectivity.
• Automation management should not depend on cloud acknowledgement.
• Safety‑critical automations (heating/cooling) should always be controllable.
• This expectation is based on the product documentation, which states that the hub remains controllable on the local network even when the external internet is unavailable.

Impact

• Faulty or unwanted automations cannot be stopped during outages.
• Heating or cooling schedules cannot be disabled if the hub is offline.
• Users lose control over automation behaviour until cloud connectivity returns.
• This creates a safety concern for climate‑control use cases.

Could the engineering team please confirm whether automation management is intentionally cloud‑dependent?

If not, is local automation control planned for future updates?
