Model: H110 Smart IR & IoT Hub

Firmware: 1.4.4 Build 251031 Rel.111523

App Version (Android): 3.17.109

App Version (iOS): 3.17.105

Platforms tested: iPadOS, Android, Bluestacks

Networks tested: multiple routers and Wi‑Fi environments

Summary

The “Next Event” banner on the Tapo dashboard displays upcoming smart plug schedules, but it does not display upcoming IR schedules created through the H110 hub. This behaviour is consistent across platforms and suggests that IR schedules are not treated as local automations by the app.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Create a smart plug schedule (e.g., turn ON at a specific time).
  2. Create an IR schedule for an IR device (e.g., AC ON at a specific time).
  3. Return to the Tapo dashboard and observe the “Next Event” banner.
  4. Compare the visibility of upcoming events for both device types.

Observed Behaviour

  • Smart plug schedules appear in the “Next Event” banner as expected.
  • IR schedules do not appear in the “Next Event” banner at all.
  • This behaviour is consistent across iPadOS, Android, and Bluestacks.
  • The app provides no indication that IR schedules are pending or upcoming.

Expected Behaviour

  • IR schedules should appear in the “Next Event” banner in the same way smart plug schedules do.
  • The dashboard should provide a unified view of all upcoming automations, regardless of device type.
  • This expectation is based on the product documentation, which states that the hub remains controllable on the local network even when the external internet is unavailable.

Impact

  • Users cannot see upcoming IR events at a glance.
  • IR schedules appear disconnected from the rest of the automation system.
  • The behaviour suggests that IR schedules may not be handled locally by the hub, unlike smart plug schedules.
  • This inconsistency makes it harder to understand or troubleshoot IR automation behaviour.

Request

Could the engineering team please clarify whether the exclusion of IR schedules from the “Next Event” banner is intentional?

If not, is unified schedule visibility planned for future updates?

Thank you for your attention,

Best Regards,

John

The Next Event banner is designed for the schedule feature of IoT devices. Automation events will not appear in this section, including automation rules configured as scheduled tasks.
