  I did not reboot my router. Before my first post, I checked my router, and it already had the correct time in daylight savings time. My router was set to time zone America/Toronto which Tapo does not have, but it doesn't matter, because America/New_York is the same time zone.

 

Maybe, I guess, Tapo devices don't really know about daylight savings time but after several hours they get the time and date from the router, so after several hours they make the switch. However, I think the Tapo app (on the phone) does know about daylight savings time, and it needs around a day to solve its confusion and retrieve correct videos from devices.

I've no idea if the reboot was what actually fixed it. It could have been a coincidence.

 

If I'm reading the ONVIF docs correctly, times are supposed to be stored as UTC and the correct offsets need to be applied according to time zone. Maybe there's a minor bug somwhere in the display chain.
