Model: Tapo C520WS
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.2.4

The camera detection feature always set itself to "all" after a while even when I set it to never detect or detect a specific action.

There is not power loss of any kind before that.

Hello,

Welcome to the community, and thank you for reporting this issue with your Tapo C520WS. We appreciate you taking the time to describe the behavior in detail.

To begin with, we would like to clarify one point to better understand the situation: does this issue occur specifically after you configure a Detection Zone or adjust detection‑related settings.

As an initial step, we kindly suggest the following test:

  • Please try logging into the Tapo app on a different mobile device (using the same TP‑Link ID), then reconfigure the detection settings again and observe whether the camera still automatically switches back to “All” after some time.

This will help us determine whether the behavior may be related to the app environment on a specific device.

If the issue continues to occur after testing on another device, we kindly ask that you contact our technical support team for further assistance. To help them investigate more efficiently, please prepare and include clear screenshots of the detection settings showing your configuration.

Best Regards
