Disable Wifi connect status (red light) at midnight.
Hi,
Any ways to disable status led for all situations?
If WIFI disconnected at midnight, it almost tell anyone this camera is off line.
This is a danger situation, because anyone knows your camera is useless.
Can app set disable status led at sometimes (just like midnight),
Or disable red status at WIFI disconnect.
Best Regards

Hi,
Hello,
Thank you for your question.
The Tapo app does support turning off the device status LED under normal operating conditions. However, please note that if the doorbell goes offline (for example, due to Wi‑Fi disconnection), the system status LED will be red. This behavior is by design, as it serves as an important indicator to alert users that the device has encountered a connectivity issue.
At the moment, it is not supported to disable the red status LED specifically when the doorbell is offline, or to schedule the LED behavior based on time (such as midnight).
That said, we fully understand your concern about privacy and security, and your feedback has been recorded and forwarded to the relevant team for consideration in future improvements.

Hi,
According to previous forum posts, similar issues have been reported before,
It seems that TP-Link simply doesn't care about this issue.
Who would go out at midnight to check on the device's status?
Even so, it should be an app notification,
not displayed on an outdoor device.(Notify others ?)
Even if I really need to check, I only open the status to look at it after confirming that there is a need to check.
We bought it for security, not to tell others that our home security camera is offline.
This seems even more dangerous than not installing it at all.
As things stand, My only solution is to cover it up with a sticker.
Thank you for your reply.
PS: I discovered that even the doorbell pattern flashes. It looks nice,
but now I have to buy a sticker with the doorbell icon to put on it,
just to prevent the doorbell icon from flashing red. It's really funny.
