Model: Tapo H500   Tapo C260
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.3.12

I use an H500 and a C260 camera.

Initally I had these not connected and did set up local face recognition in the C260 and configured an automation that would turn the the C260 into privacy mode when a known face is recognized by the C260. This worked perfectly fine.

When I connect the camera to the H500 to store recording locally on the Hub, face recognition is only possible on the H500, not on the C260 anymore.

Whilst the face recognition works fine after re-training known faces, the recognition of a known face will not trigger any automation.

I did set up the same automation as before, a known face should trigger the privacy mode (or any other action). For the purpose of debugging I did this in 2 variants: C260 recognized a known face, H500 recognizes a known face. In both cases I can select the known face. But the automation is never triggered, even though the face is recognized correctly, the H500 count the occurence of the known face in the statisitcs and it notifies accordingly (i.e. no notigication for known face).

This seems to be a bug, there is not trogfer history in the automation.

I had solved this temporarily (for a few minutes).

The automation via the H500 face recognin worked fine after choosing a different name for the known face in the H500, vs. the name I had used in the C260 before.

So it can work in principle, not sure if it is related ti the nameing.

Maybe having the same name in the camera and the H500 seems to confuse the logic. However, it stopped working after I activated person and motion recogition as well.

I did not manage to fix this once more. Teh automation simply does not work reliably with that trigger.
