A few years ago i purchased some cheap unbranded smart plugs to replace some old timer switches ( second hand) as they were cheaper than replacement timer switches,.

 the plugs are controlled by a "tuya smart "app

 All seemed OK, however now they keep randmomly turing off and on, as you can guess the support for these cheap smart plugs is non existant - and what i have found is in Chinese.

So heres the Question, whats the key difference between the Kasa and Tapo plugs, ive seen two of the Kasa plugs on offer at amazon for £27 - and theres also a third variant with energy monitoring
