Dear support,

After adding my Tapo RV30 Max Plus vacuum cleaner to the Tapo app (version 3.11.105 on iOS 18.5), I noticed that camera notifications have become generic. Previously, my C310, C200, and C100 cameras (6 cameras total) sent specific notifications (e.g. "Motion detected on Camera xxxxxxxx"). Now, all notifications are grouped as general Tapo events, without mentioning which camera triggered the alert.

Additionally, Siri used to read Tapo notifications aloud, and thanks to the camera name I was able to immediately know whether I needed to pay attention or not. The current behavior makes real-time notifications much less useful for security purposes.

Please let me know if there is any way to restore the previous behavior, or if this issue is already being addressed in a future app update.

Thank you very much.

  @Mariano....

The way phone notifications are displayed is not related to the app. Your notification display might be set to "stack," and this can be changed in the system settings.

Here is an instruction from Apple, you can take a look. Click to View

Dear support,

Thank you for your reply.

Unfortunately, the issue is not related to iOS notification grouping or stack settings. My notification style has not changed, and for over a year I’ve consistently received specific alerts from each camera, including the camera name (e.g., "Motion detected on Camera XXXXXXXX"). This changed immediately after adding the Tapo RV30 Max Plus to my setup.

Now, all camera alerts appear as generic "Tapo" notifications, with no mention of which camera triggered them. This significantly impacts the usability of the system.

This is not just a cosmetic issue — it represents a real security concern. Previously, Siri could read out loud the camera name, allowing me to know instantly, without even looking at the phone, if an alert was relevant (e.g., motion at the front door vs. inside the house). This functionality is now broken, reducing the system's effectiveness for real-time monitoring.

Please note:

  • iOS notification settings have not changed.

  • The issue only started after the RV30 Max Plus was added.

  • It affects all 6 cameras (C310, C200, and C100).

Could this be a conflict or bug introduced by the vacuum cleaner’s integration? If so, is there a fix or update planned?

I would appreciate it if this could be escalated to the technical team. I’m also happy to provide logs or help with further testing if needed.

Best regards,
Mariano
