I gifted a TP-Link Archer C5 router
, version 2, to a friend for use in a New York City apartment. She owns a Smartphone, Tablet, Laptop, Echo/Alexa speaker, Smart TV, and several Smart Wi-Fi LED Bulbs. The Archer C5 replaced an old router she had rented from the Cable Company. It was an 802.11n 1x1 router, with internal antennas, that had a maximum speed of 150Mbps. With the Archer C5, my friend saw her Wi-Fi theoretical maximum speed go from 150Mbps to 1,200Mbps. That’s an eight fold, 800%, increase. The Archer C5 router is also capable of handling multiple Wi-Fi devices simultaneously. The C5 improved my friend’s Wi-Fi range, reliability, and overall performance. No more Internet slowdowns or Wi-Fi dead zones. Streaming video buffering was eliminated. Replacing and returning the Cable Company’s router saves the $5 per month rental fee. That saves $60 a year. So maximum Wi-Fi speed rose 800%, Wi-Fi coverage increased, Wi-Fi performance improved, and the router rental fee disappeared. Although my friend is definitely not a computer nerd, she said switching from the Cable Company router to the Archer C5 was simple and easy. After following the instructions outlined in the Quick Installation Guide, she was surfing the Internet in a few minutes. She loves how the C5 improved Wi-Fi performance and that it eliminated the Cable Company’s router rental fee! What’s not to like?
